ESG “environmental, social and governance” refers to a set of criteria that companies must meet to qualify as environmentally or socially responsible. ESG takes the holistic view that sustainability extends beyond just environmental issues.

ESG is best characterized as a framework that helps stakeholders understand how an organization is managing risks and opportunities related to environmental, social, and governance criteria. It refers to a company’s commitment to do more than make a profit, such as actively strive to contribute positively to the environment or social causes and to conduct themselves responsibly.

About the Speakers 

YAN, Jinjiang is a globally experienced technology and innovation researcher with more than 15-year track record associated with textile product and process research and development. Mr. YAN, Jinjiang now services as Industrial Development Officer at Rural Development, Agro-industries and Industrial Parks Unit, Division of Agribusiness and Infrastructure Development, Directorate of SDG Innovation and Economic Transformation. He works in the headquarter of UNIDO in Vienna and focus on strategic technical interventions on cotton, textile and garment industries. Mr. YAN, Jinjiang graduated from the college of textile of Donghua University in China. He holds a joint PhD degree in textile science and engineering from Donghua University in China and University of Texas at Austin in United States.

 

Gergana Mantarkova CMC® is a Board Member of the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI) and the Chairperson of the Board of the Bulgarian Association of Management Consulting Organisations. She was the Managing Partner and Head of Advisory for KPMG in Bulgaria in the period 2000 - 2019. Gergana is a Certified Management Consultant and an ICMCI accredited trainer in ISO20700:2017 - Guidelines for management consultancy services.

 

Jeremy Webster CMC® is a Certified Management Consultant and a Chartered Engineer with over 30 years' experience in international consultancy. He is currently Secretary of the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI) and an ICMCI Academic Fellow. As well as leading Silver Pebble Ltd, an organisational development consultancy and CMI Approved Centre, he teaches sustainability to postgraduate and undergraduate students at two UK universities.

 

Christopher Harper CMC®  is the Senior Director Digital Business Transformation with Online Business Systems, working with a North American team to bring about a more secure and effective enterprises through the definition of strategies that enable organizations to realize their full digital potential. Through his graduate research on digital transformation and strategy, and as an instructor at the University of Calgary, he helps clients optimally achieve their desired outcomes from technological investments.

About the moderator

Robert Bodenstein was elected Chair of the ICMCI in 2021. As a management consultant, he specializes in strategy and IT. As a member of the board of funding organizations, he has evaluated more than 850 IT projects, mostly with cutting edge technology background. He has worked in industries like tourism, trade and IT in Europe, Middle East and Asia.
