CMC-Global has many international connections in order to keep abreast of opportunities to support our profession worldwide.

Those connections often end up being collaborative relations especially where our goals and objectives meet. In particular, we would highlight the following:

United Nations Non-Governmental Organizations (UN NGO)
In July 2001, CMC-Global (ICMCI) was granted Special Consultative Status by the United Nation’s Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). This Special Consultative Status is a strategic positioning opportunity that will give CMC-Global international recognition.

ECOSOC has endorsed CMC-Global’s practice of sending highly qualified and experienced management consultants to countries with less developed economies. CMC-Global trains, coaches and mentors local management consultants and fledgling institutes of management consultants in the fundamentals of consulting and networking with other Institutes of Management Consulting (IMC’s) in their region and around the world.

CMC-Global also assists management consultants in developing a Code of Ethics, standards for membership and certification, and setting up programs to help consultants in neighboring countries.

European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)
Over the years, cooperation between CMC-Global and EBRD grew in terms of supporting our profession in countries of interest to EBRD. CMC-Global has been a supportive arm to the Business Support Team of EBRD.

We have worked together in conducting training courses on management consultancy, establishing national institutes of management consulting (IMCs), and certifying consultants in those countries to our Certified Management Consultant (CMC) designation. CMC-Global has always invited EBRD to participate in our events, including our annual CMC International Conference.

International Organization for Standardization (ISO)
Having accomplished the EN 16114 standard, The Italian standards body UNI submitted to ISO a new work item proposal, to open a Project Committee in ISO on Management Consultancy. The proposal takes its origin from the positive experience gained in CEN during the last few years, where the European standard EN 16114:2011 has been published with the contribution of many European Countries.

With the positive relationship with both UNI and CEN, many CMC-Global officials became members of the ISO PC280 for formulating the ISO 20700 - Management Consulting Services standard. The technical committees at ISO are made up of experts from the relevant industry, but also from consumer associations, academia, NGOs and government. Work started in 2013 and the full process should last 36 months with the expected release of the final standard in late 2016/2017.

The standard was launched on the 1st of June 2017 coinciding with the International Consultants Day.

European Committee for Standardization (CEN)
Our relationship with CEN is ongoing since the work started on the development of the EN 16114 standard, as on On 9 November 2011 more than 50 representatives of the management consultancy sector and EU-institutions came together in Brussels to celebrate the launch of the new European Service Standard EN 16114 Management Consultancy Services and discuss further steps for its implementation.

The relationship developed into the marketing of the standard, as many of the CMC-Global officials and volunteers are ambassadors to the EN 16114. All Ambassadors are highly committed industry representatives, who help spreading the information. They share one core confidence: They see high value in the adoption of the standard and benefits for all stakeholders involved - clients, management consulting services providers and both European and national institutions.

The relationship also continues during the periodic editing process of the standard, and to know more about the standard please visit the following website: http://www.en16114.eu/index.html

UNI, Italian Organization for Standardization
UNI have chosen to work with us in promulgating worldwide improved standards for the Management Consultancy profession. We have been cooperating on this in the form of our membership since 2008.

International Accreditation Forum (IAF)
CMC-Global has an “observer status” with IAF because we are a certification scheme owner. Our primary certification is the Certified Management Consultant (CMC) that we accredit through country Institutes of Management Consulting around the world to certify individual practicing management consultants.
