The main discussions at the Annual Meeting include topics of ethics, a main pillar in changing the world for any profession, and Consultants journey /path to the Certified Management Consultant (CMC) designation with its impact on IMCs and the profession in general.

The CMC designation is the only globally recognized designation for individual management consultants and is exclusively given to those management consultants that satisfy the highest criteria of competence and professionalism in advising clients while being faithful to the standard Code of Ethics.

Mr. Robert Bodenstein CMC®, ICMCI Chair, will address the gathering with his Board report on results of the 2022-2023 initiatives with taken actions to implement the adopted strategy: Robert Bodenstein said that “As an organization, to include the board, the executive office, and our committees we have lots of results to show”. The new path to CMC allows institutes to integrate mid-level certificates that consultants can attain by attending trainings and certification programs. In the future ICMCI shall be able to collaborate with other training providers and academia to address new markets.

The new version of the ISO 20700:2017 Self-Declaration Check-List training developed by ICMCI now addresses the global megatrends in management consulting which are sustainability and digitalization.

ICMCI plans to set up a legal entity to handle its business activities related to services to IMCs and the community are becoming more concrete. This shall allow ICMCI volunteers to focus on more value-added services that everyone at ICMCI can participate in and benefit from.

As ICMCI’s activities are growing it needs to put in place a risk management system that is appropriate to the organization. This is now being addressed and outcomes and implementation plans will be shared with the assembly during the Annual Meeting. Also, ICMCI updated its hubs policy with the aim of strengthening the hubs and to empower them to become a recognized player in the profession at a regional level. With the new formed communities, ICMCI shall be able to address new markets and provide global networks for those consultants who are interested in that.

The ICMCI, also known as CMC-Global, is the global stimulating and supporting body to the national institutes in the process of their establishment through ongoing cooperation. This activity had significantly contributed to accelerating the adoption of the ICMCI Competence Framework and the related CMC rules and guidelines as the premier professional standard for the management consulting worldwide.

The vision of the organization is to be a leader in the development of management consulting as a global profession that drives social and economic success. While the mission of the organization is to build the profile, recognition and influence of the profession and its practitioners globally.
