The ICMCI Asia Pacific Hub got together virtually 24 June 2024 with the participation of 10 countries. The event was hosted by the IMC India.
Lydia Goh, ICMCI Asia Pacific Hub Chair, and Anuj Bhagrava, IMC India Chair, welcomed everyone and summarized the agenda highlighting the different sessions.
The event featured a special guest speaker, Mr. Sumnesh Joshi, Deputy Director General, Ministry of Communications, Government of India. Mr. Sumnesh provided the participants with a detailed update on the latest developments in India’s journey in Digital Transformation.
Robert Bodenstein, ICMCI Chair, dwelt on the ICMCI 2030 strategy outlining thirteen aspirations and their connections to the three strategic pillars: Ethics and Standards, Knowledge Development and Sharing, and Representation. Amongst them, establishing a successful Management Consulting ecosystem, as well as a joined-up community with a culture of belonging and commitment are the primary responsibilities of the ICMCI hubs.
Lydia Goh illustrated an overview of the round table discussions and the expected outcomes highlighting the role of the Hub in implementing ICMCI's strategy with particular reference to the representation of the profession in the Asia Pacific region.
The main focus was on means of elevating the Hub to an agile organisation capable of supporting a strong consulting community aligned to the global vision and priorities while taking specific actions to bring the strategy to life, and how to add value to the Member Institutes and to the Members of our Member Institutes, as well as identifying the stakeholders and discussing actions of enhancing engagement. These subjects were the basis for the breakout rooms discussions, and the outcomes will serve as a basis for developing a business plan for the Asia Pacific Hub and building an effective governance model for the coming years.
ICMCI would like to express gratitude to all participants for their commitment and engagement. We also extend a special thank you to IMC India for hosting such a dynamic meeting. We are also excited to announce the next Asia Pacific Hub meeting and Conference will be hosted by IMC Hong Kong in person on the 8 & 9 May 2025.
About Hubs
The concept of regional Hub meetings has evolved over the years to reflect the growth of ICMCI and its network. As calls for cooperation within regions that shared similar challenges and cultures arose, and the Hub meetings became the answer to foster cooperative actions between the member IMCs to discuss regional and local issues that may not be perceived relevant on the global scale. Hub meetings are open to all Delegates from IMCs around the globe.
