
Dear Colleagues,
The ICMCI Asia Pacific Hub Meeting 2026 provided an important platform for strengthening the professionalism, collaboration and growth of the Institutes with Chair of the ICMCI Board Nick Warn, CMC® sharing the ICMCI 2030 strategy , Alan Blackman and Board Directors Celal Seçkin CMC®, Gergana Mantarkova CMC®, and Sue Bowman CMC® on ethics , emerging new competency framework , enterprise risk management system and IMCs assessment processes respectively. All presented papers were well received with acknowledgement of good value.
The representatives from Indonesia demonstrated remarkable enthusiasm and commitment towards establishing a possible IMC in Indonesia marking the possibility of a promising IMC from a different cultural background will enrich our collective perspectives and enhance the diversity and vibrancy of our international network.
Peter Westlund CMC®, IMC Australia President, shared with attendees information on their involvement in the Senate hearings; their submissions are a good model for all in our network to follow in our ‘advocacy voice’ approach.
Attending IMCs presented their achievements over the last year and their plans for the future – all very positive and realistic. For example, Australia demonstrated their push towards regulation and stakeholder involvement; Hong Kong spoke of their networking with other professional bodies and a joint HK/ICMCI China strategy; Mongolia expressed their focus on the ISO 20700:2017 Self Declaration Checklist training, SME assistance and University networking; Singapore summarized their campaign to for Thought Leadership, Collaboration with universities, CoPs for AI and Sustainability.
The conference that IMC Australia arranged to coincide with the Hub Meeting explored timely and thought -provoking themes including balancing human and AI reasoning in an increasingly complex world, safeguarding ethics legitimacy within human and AI systems and processes and advancing human- centered consulting in the AI era. Participants gained valuable perspectives on navigating AI in the future of the profession with integrity, innovation and responsibility.
The Asia Pacific Hub Meeting and Conference was truly an enriching and inspiring experience filled with rich insights and invaluable opportunities to forge new connections with fellow professionals, thought leaders and AI industry experts.
