Asia – Pacific Hub 2017 Summary

Congratulations to the Institute of Management Consultants Singapore (“IMCS”) for successfully hosted the IMCS Asia Pacific Conference on Productivity and Innovation Technologies 5th May 2017 and in conjunction with the ICMCI Asia Pacific Hub Meeting on the 6th May 2017, held at the Hotel Jen Tanglin, SINGAPORE.

“A Big Thank You to all the participants, delegates and speakers for the event, notwithstanding the hardworking crew members from the IMCS backroom, the unwavering support from IMCS Council, and our generous sponsors and supportive agency partners. As Chair of the Organizing Committee, I am proud to give due recognition to the collective effort of the Institute, without which this event will not be so well-received by our international delegates and the Board of ICMCI.” – Message from Lim Song Joo, Chair of the Organizing Committee AsiaPac 2017

The event planning started as early as May 2016, when ICMCI awarded the hosting of the event to IMCS. As Chair of the committee, it was a race from day one to ensure we create an unforgettable experience for all our delegates, From the onset, we are very focused to provide a differentiated experience for all our participants and to give them a good impression of IMCS and of Singapore, the showcase of Asia emergence over the last 5 decades.

Starting on a cool evening on the 4th May 2017, IMCS hosted a Welcome Dinner for the Board Members of ICMCI and our guest speakers. Council Members of IMCS were “all hands on deck” to make sure our VIPs were well looked after. We chose to have dinner aboard an Iconic TongKang on the Singapore River. It was indeed an enjoyable evening for all our VIPs and guests.

The Conference opened with a flourish of a Video Montage of all the countries who were represented during the Conference; followed by the Welcome Speech by Ms Lydia Goh, our IMCS President. In all, there were 110 participants from 15 different countries!!! It’s such an exciting time for all members to be networking amongst peers. This was followed by our lineup of renowned Speakers who held the attention of all the participants throughout and there were lively exchanges of Q&A sessions too, sharing their rich experience and insights on Productivity and Innovation in the consulting space.

One of the highlights of the event was the celebration of ICMCI 30th Anniversary and IMCS was proud to organize a Gala Dinner to commemorate the celebration, (we even had a ICMCI Birthday Cake!!)

We were entertained by an ensemble of young and talented flutists, mesmerizing the audience with their wonderful musical renditions.

Also, we would not want to forget the popular caricature artist who was kept busy throughout the evening sketching away portrait after portrait for the participants to take home as souvenirs. It was fun and great for all the “Superstars” who saw themselves painted in a different perspective from the artist’s loving hands.

Onstage, all the participants sang and danced their way to shower greetings to ICMCI 30th Anniversary Birthday, and everybody had a great time …..

We started the Asia Pacific Hub Meeting on 6th May 2017, on a lively mood as the joy of the gala evening hasn’t really worn off. The program elements on the 2nd day were just as rich and engaging as members shared their success case studies. IMCS Hon Sec, Kelvin Chan, shared the success case of RMC Program that IMCS was granted Certifying Body status by SPRING SINGAPORE.

Ms Reema Nasser, representing the  ICMCI Secretariat and Board, also shared the programs and the forward plans to help our member institutes create value and visibility on the global stage.

During the closing and networking lunch, there was a tinge of reluctance as it was drawing to the close of the event. The biggest takeaway was “We’ll meet soon again in Kazakhstan in September for the ICMCI Global Conference”

Over to you, Till we meet again, in Kazakhstan !!!!!
